Is Facebook Group Marketing Effective?

facebook group marketingFacebook group marketing is so damn saturated with entrepreneurs pitching their deals, I highly doubt it’s very effective for anyone.  I’m sure there was a time when things were different, but as of now, every single marketer and their mother utilizes Facebook groups for marketing.

I’m not saying it’s a bad thing to do Facebook group marketing, but I highly doubt you’re going to get the bulk of your income by doing that.  I definitely utilize Facebook groups for promoting Project Payday.  If you don’t know about them, you can read my review here. That opportunity actually works well for me when I set up this FB poster that usually makes me enough money to buy dinner and drinks in a 24 hour period.  Yeah, I know posters aren’t allowed on Facebook but seriously, I’m pretty sure the majority of online marketers use one.

Don’t Be A Douchebag and Spam Everyone.  Be Real.

You really need to stand out from the crowd if you want to be effective promoting in Facebook groups.  I mean, you’re up against every other marketer out there.  I’m pretty sure everyone claims to have the greatest opportunity since bread came sliced, so please don’t go that route.

Here’s a Perfect Example of a Facebook Group Full of Marketers All Competing With Each Other.

My biggest advice if you’re going to do Facebook group marketing is to be as honest and real as you possibly can when posting your ads.  It’s way too easy to spot a fake in this business.  So being genuine will truly stand out from the crowd.

Facebook Jail

And the dreaded Facebook Jail.  You know what?  I’m not even gonna go there right now.  That’s a whole other topic altogether that deserves a separate blog entry, but it’s another reason I decided to move to Wealthy Affiliate to earn my online income.  If you don’t know about WA, you can get information about it here.

This was a short one but if you have any questions or comments at all, please leave them below and I’d be happy to answer them.  Thanks!

  1. Hi Paul! I found your article very interesting as I’ve been wondering this myself. I see my fair share of ads popping up all over Facebook and I actually find them quite annoying. Thank you for writing this!

    1. Lol Muriel – they ARE annoying. It’s just a headache to see so many ads pop up all the time that are the next big thing over and over and over again. Thank you for your comment!

  2. I know what you mean. These groups are just way to saturated and I agree with you that the only way to actually stand out at all is to be honest. Nice article with some practical info. Thanks. ~Jeremy

    1. Thank you Jeremy I really appreciate it. Yep, honesty is so key, especially in a business where most people think everything we do is a scam.

  3. Interesting post on Facebook marketing. It wasn’t what I expected to read, and glad it wasn’t.

I wanted to add with your readers that whatever business you get into, you have to create a professional identity for yourself. One that stands out for your business in a way that you are not promoting. In a way that allows for your image to be promoted just by simply making yourself present.

If Richard Branson wanted to make another 10 million dollars it is simple because all he has to do is make himself present. Those who recognize and idol him bring him more money..

This is what we need to do as online business owners and internet marketers. On a smaller scale of course, but by making an image for yourself within your market, you attract to you what you once looked for.

Successful Lifestyle Secrets was started with similar intent as yourself. Some people now call me “The Successful Lifestyle Guy“. Many people expect me to motivate and assist people through complicated situations as well as guide people to Learn Internet Marketing. This has brought me a lot of attention and many new reasons to grow and prosper.

With regards to Facebook Group Marketing, it should only be used on a social level. If your attracting people, they will gladly follow you here. (Ad Spam is not required or recommended)

Keep up the awesome work here. You are doing great!

    1. Thank you so much for your comment Dameien – you are totally right. You really need to brand yourself as a person and people will follow you. You need to help others. People will follow those who create a professional identity as you say, and who are truly in this to make change. I agree that FB groups should only be used on a social level too. Thank you again.

  4. Great post!

In my experience, I’ve never had any luck with posting on Facebook groups. There’s so much rubbish being posted 24/7, that people tend to ignore stuff now which can be a bad thing for the genuine people trying to promote themselves.

I now use G+ mainly for the promotion of my blog articles and for making new friends because it’s not as saturated as Facebook.

    Thanks for sharing this :)

    Neil

    1. Hey Neil – thank you for the feedback, so Google + is better for promo huh? I actually tried it a few times but I think I just didn’t get the hang of it properly, but that actually sounds like a really great idea and I’m going to look into it more.
